These instructions were written as a short introduction to using EndNote X3, but have been updated continuously to reflect changes to X8.

Saving References

    1. Open EndNote and minimize it.
    2. Run your search in JSTOR.
    3. Mark each of the references by placing a ckeck in the box, for those you wish to move to EndNote, then click Cite This Item


    4. Select Export a RIS file (For EndNote, ProCite, etc.)

  1. Depending upon your computer the references may export directly, or you may see the screen below, or a file with a .ris extension

  2. If you do, click on OK (or open it) and the references should appear in your EndNote Library.
