The American Anthropological Association follows the Chicago Manual of Style, 17th edition. However, there are various citation styles for citing sources, so always consult with your professor, research assignment guidelines, or your publisher to identify which citation style to follow.

EndNote and Zotero are citation management software which enable you to create a searchable library of citations. These programs interact with your Microsoft Word and Mac Pages to automatically format your references and create footnotes, endnotes, and bibliographies in your chosen citation format.
