Library Media Guide

Using Streaming Media from the Library

The Library subscribes to multiple streaming media services, and faculty may use these materials in their entirety as part of course curriculum.

A-Z Databases: Streaming Media: View the complete list of streaming databases

  • Please notify the Library of all the titles you plan to use for your course, and specify the semester, even if the title is currently active in OneSearch. This will allow the Library to ensure that licenses will not run out before your intended use. You can use the Course Reserve Request Form to submit your list of titles.
  • Distribute links to students via Canvas.

Embed Streaming Media in Canvas

Films that are available to stream through platforms like Films on Demand (FOD) can be embedded into your Canvas course.

After creating a page in Canvas, edit the page and click the plug icon on the far right to find the appropriate App, see below.

The Library also accepts personal copies of books and other materials such as DVDs for reserves. Use the course reserve request form to submit your personal copy request.

Loan limits for reserve items include 2 hours, 24 hours, 3 days, or 1 week.
