OpenStax Precalculus

Precalculus is adaptable and designed to fit the needs of a variety of precalculus courses. It is a comprehensive text that covers more ground than a typical one- or two-semester college-level precalculus course. The content is organized by clearly-defined learning objectives and includes worked examples that demonstrate problem-solving approaches in an accessible way.

OpenStax Calculus

Calculus is designed for the typical two- or three-semester general calculus course, incorporating innovative features to enhance student learning. The book guides students through the core concepts of calculus and helps them understand how those concepts apply to their lives and the world around them. Volume 1 covers functions, limits, derivatives, and integration.

Active Calculus

Active Prelude to Calculus, Active Calculus, and Active Calculus Multivariable are free, open-source texts designed for a more active learning experience for students. Every section of each text has engaging activities for students to complete before and during class, as well as exercises that challenge students to connect and assimilate core concepts. The HTML version of each text offers anonymous interactive WeBWorK exercises, select interactive graphics, and full-color static graphics. Inexpensive print versions are available for purchase from Amazon. You can learn more about the features and ancillary materials for each text by clicking on "learn more" for any text of interest above.

BCcampus OpenEd - Differential Calculus for the Life Sciences

Calculus arose as a tool for solving practical scientific problems through the centuries. However, it is often taught as a technical subject with rules and formulas (and occasionally theorems), devoid of its connection to applications. In this textbook, the applications form an important focal point, with emphasis on life sciences. This places the techniques and concepts into practical context, as well as motivating quantitative approaches to biology taught to undergraduates. While many of the examples have a biological flavour, the level of biology needed to understand those examples is kept at a minimum. The problems are motivated with enough detail to follow the assumptions, but are simplified for the purpose of pedagogy.

OpenTextBookStore - Applied Calculus

An openly licensed applied calculus textbook, covering derivatives, integrals, and an intro to multivariable calculus. This book is heavily remixed from Dale Hoffman's Contemporary Calculus textbook, and retains the same conceptual focus from that text.

APEX Calculus

An inexpensive, open-source alternative to the traditional Calculus textbook. The pdf version is free or you can buy an inexpensive version on Amazon. The download has some 3D content to enhance learning.
