Defining Classism

Social class is a person's economic and social position in relation to others based on their education, occupation, and income. It can also include an individual's perception of their status.

Classism includes practices, values, and beliefs that assign unequal privilege to individuals based on their social class. See the information below by Anne Randak and Katie Macasa on what classism is and why it matters.
