A: Currently, ProQuest recommends that each author submit separately. This way each author will be listed in ProQuest Dissertation & Theses as a primary author, assigned a publication number, and receive any ordered printed copies with their name printed on them.
At this moment, regarding multi-authored works, ProQuest recommends to not register for copyright through ETD Administrator. Currently, ProQuest only processes registration for individual authored works.
For more information, contact ProQuest at disspub@proquest.com.
A: You can place an embargo on your work. These are approved by your committee and the Office of Graduate Studies.
A: Student graduate projects, theses, and dissertations are published on both ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global and the University Library repository Sac State Scholars.
First, your work will be published on ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global, which makes your work available to a global audience. Please note that this database is subscription-based, so it is not available to the public.
In addition to ProQuest, your work will also be published on the CSUS University Library repository Sac State Scholars. This is an open-access database that is freely accessible to the public, which means that your work will be available to a wide audience and may be cited and used by others in their research.
A: When you register for ETD Administrator, it is best that you list both your school email address and a separate personal email address in the Permanent Email Address field of the contact information section so that you can maintain access to your account if needed after your SacLink account has expired.
A: Take the following steps to make changes to your graduate project, thesis, or dissertation in ProQuest and in Sac State Scholars.
A: Yes, there are. Graduate projects, theses, and dissertations published before 2009 have physical copies in the library. More recent graduate theses, projects, and dissertations are online only. They can be found on our Sac State Scholars platform. With the author's permission, many of the older print graduate manuscripts have been digitized and can also be found on Sac State Scholars.
A: You can order a bound copy of your thesis/project/dissertation through Thesis on Demand if the window to order with ProQuest has closed. There, you'll be able to select your cover, printing, and paper options.
Requesting a bound copy via Thesis on Demand requires a PDF version of your manuscript. If you do not have a digital copy of your manuscript and cannot find it on Sac State Scholars, please submit a Thesis Digitization Request to have your manuscript digitized by the library. Refer to the following question for more details.
A: Yes. Please submit a Thesis Digitization Request. Upon receiving your online form, the Library will work on digitizing your print thesis/project/dissertation and add it to Sac State Scholars. If you have any questions regarding the form or the process, please contact Lib-Scholars@csus.edu.
