Table of Contents Alerts from Journals

One way to stay current is to identify relevant journals in your field and set up alerts to be notified of new publications.

  • Identify relevant publications for which you'd like to be sent alerts
  • Go to the publisher's website
  • Register and login for a free account to set up alerts. You can often find these under a bell icon or text like "set up email alerts" or "table of content alerts"

These articles may not be freely available, but you can navigate to the Open Access Tools tab to try the Unpaywall or Open Access Button extensions. Some journals may also have specific articles available through open access.

Professional Organizations

Another way to stay current in your field is to join professional associations in your discipline. To identify professional associations in your field, many of our subject guides will link to professional organizations. Another potential way to find organizations is to do a site-specific search on Google, e.g., site:.org [your discipline] association
