The AMA Manual of Style: A Guide for Authors and Editors was created by the editors of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) to provide directions on publishing in medicine and science. The eleventh edition of the AMA Manual of Style was published in 2020, thirteen years after its previous iteration, and, as you would expect, has a number of updates to account for the new methods of accessing information. However, the basic format remains the same.
This library guide provides directions for formatting your paper and citations, whether you are submitting your work to a publisher or in a class. For more information, see the AMA Manual of Style, check out the resources below, or ask a librarian.
