What is governance?
The process of collective decisionā€making and policy implementation, used distinctly from government to reflect broader concern with norms and processes relating to the delivery of public goods. From the Concise Oxford Dictionary of Political Science.

Statement on Shared Governance and Consultation
Shared governance is realized through the process of consultation.  Without established formal consultative processes, university constituencies cannot effectively deal with issues of major concern or develop solutions to major problems.
