The Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy (IEP)was founded in 1995 as a non-profit organization to provide open access to detailed, scholarly information on key topics and philosophers in all areas of philosophy.

The Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy organizes scholars from around the world in philosophy and related disciplines to create and maintain an up-to-date reference work. All entries and substantive updates are refereed by the members of a distinguished Editorial Board before they are made public.

'The American Philosophical Society promotes useful knowledge in the sciences and humanities through excellence in scholarly research, professional meetings, support of young scholars, publications, library resources, a museum and community outreach.' Papers from yearly proceedings available; digital collections available from the APS Digital Library.

'...ethical analysis of news events written by authors drawn from students and researchers in four centres based at the Philosophy Faculty, University of Oxford, and from our visitors and guest authors. . . focus on current events with practical ethical relevance, including developments in science and technology, environmental policy, public health, and information ethics.'

Founded in 1999 by college educators, the Sophia Project is an online collection of original articles, primary source texts, and commentaries in the fields of philosophy and ethics designed to provide the newcomer to the discipline of philosophy with the resources necessary to read great philosophical works.
