Author searching:
Article abstracts were not common until the 1970s. Thus older articles may NOT have an abstract.
Advance searching offers more options and limiting functions to date, journal title, author affiliation, etc.
SciFinder Scholar is the online equivalent of Chemical Abstracts. Published since 1907, this index covers journals, reports, conferences, book chapters, dissertations, patents, etc. Sacramento State access is available only to current students and employees with a valid SacLink account.

Indexes give information (author, title of the article, name of the journal, date, volume, issue, pages) on published articles and other documents, making them easy to locate. You will find links to full articles if we subscribe to the publication.
These are publishers' databases. The journals indexed and the full articles are from the publishers selection of journals. Sac State's subscriptions to these databases do not always cover the complete backfile (or archive) so all years (volumes) may not be available online. We may have print copies in the Library on 3South or the Lower Level. Check OneSearch, the catalog, for availability.
This search engine, scholar.google.com, looks for scholarly information available online. Access to complete articles depends on whether we subscribe.
