The California Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM) prioritizes protecting public health, safety, and the environment in its oversight of the oil, natural gas, and geothermal industries, while working to help California achieve its climate change and clean energy goals. To do that, CalGEM uses science and sound engineering practices to regulate the drilling, operation, and permanent closure of energy resource wells.​

The Geo-Heat digital library is a collection of documents relating to geothermal energy. This collections is a partnership between the Oregon Institute of Technology Libraries and the Geo-Heat Center.

A 43 page book helps explain the role that geothermal resources can play in helping promote alternative energy sources and in satisfying our Nation’s vast energy needs as we enter a new millennium.

Geothermal energy taps the heat that lies beneath the earth's surface in several ways. We use the geothermal reservoirs of hot water and steam to generate electricity and for direct applications, including aquaculture, crop drying, and district heating.

The California Geologic Energy Management Division prepares and publishes oil, gas, and geothermal maps.
