As part of our regular practice, our library engages in collections curation work. This fall we undertook a cost-per-use (CPU) review of our direct-subscription online journals. The following journals have been targeted for cancellation starting January 2021, based on low usage and/or high cost-per-use. We will still retain ownership of previously purchased back issues. We will continue to support your scholarship! Current articles can be requested through online Interlibrary Loan (ILL), a streamlined process that will usually deliver any article within 24 hours.

*We calculated cost-per-use for each of the past four years (using historical costs), then calculated the average.
Numbers above represent usage of direct-subscription journals only; they do not represent usage through aggregators such as JSTOR. Many of the titles above will still be available through JSTOR and other aggregators, with an embargo period.
The total savings of $23,172 represents an approximate 9% cut to the ~$255,000 direct-subscription journals budget. This does not include journals we receive through database aggregators or through publisher packages such as the American Chemical Society, American Society of Civil Engineering, EBSCO, Elsevier, Emerald, IEEE, Oxford University Press, SAGE, or Springer.
