Scholarly articles (often peer reviewed) are written by researchers and published in journals (periodicals, serials, magazines).
Use a subject or author index (online database or print index) to find which journal contains an article.
An index will give a complete citation: author, title of the article, name of the journal, volume and issue numbers, page numbers, and year of publication. A DOI may be included.
With the citation, you can locate the journal that published the article. Use OneSearch to see if Sac State subscribes to the journal.
Books, including textbooks, often have references to articles, other books and book chapters, and conference papers for further reading.
