JEL Codes are used in classifying scholarly literature in the field of economics, such as journal articles, working papers, books and dissertations.

Click open a Code category to get a more detailed Code specific to your topic.

It can be used as an alternative to subject or keyword searching in the EconLit database.

Background Research in American Economics Association Journals

AEA Journals

The American Economics Association publishes 8 journals containing research articles on a variety of topics.

You can search all the journals or select an individual journal, based upon its subject focus.

Make sure you check off Title and/or Abstract, not Author.
