Off-campus access is available to all current Sac State students, faculty, and staff to a wide variety of Library electronic resources. Connecting to electronic resources from off-campus requires authentication before access is allowed.
The University Library uses a proxy server to authenticate users for off-campus access. In order for this to work, it is important that you start your session from the Library homepage (http://library.csus.edu/).
If you already have bookmarked a resource (reference to an e-journal, e-book, or a particular full-text article), you may want to check to see if the web address has already been "proxy'ed". Look at the beginning part of the web address (aka, URL) for "proxy.lib.csus.edu". If you don't see this in the web address, you can prepend the following to the existing URL:
http://proxy.lib.csus.edu/login?url=
For example, if we have a link to a full-text article:
http://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&db=dba&AN=123456789&site=ehost-live
This link does not include the "proxy.lib.csus.edu" in the URL, so we add the proxy prefix in front of the original link:
http://proxy.lib.csus.edu/login?url=http://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&db=dba&AN=123456789&site=ehost-live
If you still have trouble accessing, feel free to contact Library Systems & IT Services department at (916) 278-5656.
