All Workshops Held in Library 2023
- Scholarly Journals
Formerly titled, "Cracking the Database Code," this workshop teaches students how to search for articles effectively in the databases, how to evaluate their quality, and how to determine peer-reviewed status.
- Citing Your Sources
Librarians teach students when to cite (and not to cite) a source to avoid plagiarism; how to incorporate in-text citations smoothly; and how to prepare bibliographies in three major styles: APA, MLA, and Chicago.
Powerpoint slides are here.
EndNote is a powerful software program that organizes citations and creates bibliographies in over 5,000 styles. With EndNote, you will be able to export references directly from databases, store them in groups, search them as needed, attach full-text files for future reading, create bibliographies, and more.
Before attending this workshop, participants should install 6X on their personal or laptop computer. The Library's EndNote Research Guide will assist in downloading the software. Personal laptops are welcome at the workshop (so that you may work within your own account) but not required for participation.
