This University doesn't have a law school but like many colleges our curriculum offers many courses that involve studying law or how laws impact our society. The CSUS Library subscribes to LEXIS/NEXIS. However, there are law libraries in our region that can provide legeal material that we can't.
The Sacramento County Public Law Library serves the bench, bar and citizens of Sacramento County. The California County Law Library system was established in 1891. The library is a practice library, with over 65,000 volumes, focusing on practical materials for attorneys and lay persons.

The Bernard E. Witkin State Law Library collection contains selected primary and secondary sources in American law. It is particularly strong in both California and older national primary and practice materials.
The Library contains over 290,000 volumes of books in over eight miles of shelving, over 150,000 volume-equivalents of microforms, and has access to a number of proprietary online databases. Over 40,000 volumes of seldom used materials are stored off site at UC's NRLF (Northern Regional Library Facility) and are retrievable within 2 days. The collection includes the basic sources of United States, British, Canadian, and Australian law, as well as International law.
