Who can use the Library?

The Library is open to the community.

Our books and journals support the academic areas taught on campus. For some subjects, such as best sellers and hobbies, the public libraries may offer a more appropriate collection of books and magazines.


Can I use the Library's computers?

Anyone can use the Library's research computers on the 1st floor and 2nd floor near the Reference Desk to access the Internet, library catalog, and library databases.

Only current CSUS students, faculty and staff with active Saclink accounts can use computers with word processing and other production software.


I don't know my Library login.

Students, faculty and staff log in to their My Library account using their SacLink UserID and password.

All other Library users: On the right side of the Library’s homepage, open “My Library Accounts”. From here, you can establish your EUREKA account or login to it. If you forgot your PIN, in order to set a new one, call User Services at 916-278-6708 to have your old PIN erased.

Where can I return my books?

During open hours, books and materials can be turned in at the Book Return located to the left of the User Services desk.

There are also two outside book drops on campus. A drive-up book drop is available 24/7 at the corner of Sinclair Road and Moraga Way behind Eureka Hall. Campus map is here.

When the Library is closed, books and materials can be put in the book drop located to the right of the Library main entrance (past all the glass windows). This is an after-hours only book drop.


    When are you open?

    The hours vary. See the link to Library hours on the Library's homepage.


    Where is a quiet place to study?

    The 4th floor is for quiet study where cell phones and talking are not allowed.

    Other quiet areas may be found around the perimeter of the 2nd and 3rd floors.

    Individual study rooms are on the Lower Level.

    Where are Lib rooms 11, 53, and 65?

    Lib 11, 53, 65 (or any Library room with a two-digit number) are in the IRT Annex and are accessible only through a separate entrance. Click here for a map.

    The IRT Annex is on the bottom level of the Library with the entrance facing the Academic Information Resource Center (AIRC). Campus map is here.


      Can I reserve a group study room?

      No. There are about 15 groups study rooms (9 on 3South)  throughout the Library that are available to Sac State OneCard holders at this link: They may not be held or used by one individual.

      Locations of study rooms are indicated on maps near the North and South elevators or ask for a map at the Reference Desk. Priority is given to Sac State students.


      Where can I find Course Reserves?

      Using a computer, go to Course Reserves and search by course or professor. You need the call number. Course Reserve materials (textbooks, readings, example exams, etc.) are held at the User Services desk on the first floor of the Library or they could be electronically available.       Can I get change for a $5 or larger bill?

      No, the Library does not handle cash. 


      Can we use a display case in the Library?
