Tests, Test Reviews and Critiques

The Reference Department maintains a Sample Test Collection of 300+ validated educational and psychological tests in print format that may be requested at the reference desk.  To protect the integrity of the tests and to comply with copyright requirements, publishers DO NOT PERMIT THEM TO BE PHOTOCOPIED OR TAKEN OUT OF THE REFERENCE AREA. 

Use OneSearch, the Library catalog in Advanced mode to find a test in the Reference Department's Sample Test Collection.  Type the words: sample test

in the first search box.  The result will be more than 400 items.  Click on Available in the Library  and a result of 300+ will display the titles of each sample test in the Library Reference Office. 

If you know the author or title of the sample test you need, then type this information into the first search box; use dropdown menu to select either author/creator, or title.

A particularly useful reference book is:                                  

Measures of Personality and Social Psychological Attitudes  ref BF 698.4 M38 1991.  The tests included in this book are commercially published, but in some cases copyright permission has been arranged by the publisher.  Be sure to read the preface for guidance on complying with fair use.

The Encyclopedia of Education  REF LB 15.E47 2003  also full text online.  In volume 8 the first Appendix is a list of frequently administered standardized tests with brief descriptions and publishers' contact information.

Testing Center Test Library

Students enrolled in test assessment courses or who are assigned projects relating to assessment may have use of the Test Library by appointment. While the Testing Center cannot furnish materials to students who must give a test as a project, assistance with evaluation and selection of the appropriate instruments is available.
