Our entire Juvenile Collection is arranged using the same call number and classification system as most school and public libraries. These books are housed on the orange shelves on 2SOUTH.
Picture Books, Early Readers, Novels, and other fiction items are arranged alphabetically by author's last name.
Non-fiction Juvenile books have Dewey Decimal call numbers, from 001- 999.
Books are arranged on the shelf in numerical order by the decimal number, e.g. 430, 430.973, 431. When two books on the same topic have the same number, then look at the the second line of the call number, which begins with a letter that usually represents the author's last name or, if there is no author, the title.
