  • Bills, Laws, & the Constitution
    Bills containing texts, analyses and status.
    Laws are provided as codes (current versions only) arranged by subject. Statutes are the bills as passed at the time they are approved.
    The Constitution currently available.
  • Statutes (Historical)
    Laws passed and signed by the governor or not vetoed and therefore law at the time of their passage. Laws may have been amended or repealed and therefore need to checked.
  • Legislative Bills, Hearings, & Speakers
    Beginning in 2015, "Digital Democracy" created/maintained by the Institute for Advanced Technology and Public Policy is a new online platform features a searchable database of California state legislative committees hearings, allowing the user to search videos by keyword, topic, speaker or date.
  • California Ballot Measures
    Comprehensive, searchable source of information on California ballot propositions and initiatives from 1911 to the present. It includes the full text of individual ballot propositions, accompanying information contained in the ballot pamphlets, related legal and legislative history, and pdfs of the full ballot pamphlets. For ballot initiatives, it contains the full text of the individual initiatives, accompanying material relating to their filing & qualification, related legal and legislative history, and pdfs of related official documents.
